I am currently studying for my PGCE (2nd year), part of which requires some curriculum research. I am looking at the integration of EASA within Further Education. Can anyone tell me exactly when it became a requirement for engineers to be 'licensed' to work on aircraft. I have gone back as far as 1944 and the Society of Licensed Engineers. Any information/ links/references would be of great help and truly appreciated.

Thank you.
