We have raided the obscure corners of the Flight Archive and come up with this mystery ship. We have only the most basic facts here about this flying machine, can anyone complete the story?

Here is what EADS says about the VAK 191B on its history site:

http://www.eads.net/1024/en/eads/history/airhist/1970_today/vak191_1971.html

It was to be a VTOL replacement for the Fiat G.91. It used a combination of lift jets and Harrier-style thrust vectoring. The hover control test rig pictured flew in 1966, and the programme was cancelled not long after, but the VAK 191B went on to be built as an experimental aircraft and first flew in 1971.
