I was quite appalled to read about the convictions in the ATR crash off Sicily in 2005.

In Heverlee, Belgium 2008 the headlines there were about 2 men in their 20's who stole a high powered car, got high on drugs and drove the car through a residential street at 120-160km/hr (police estimates) and crashed into a people carrier killing 4 children 3 of the same family and their Mother. Some time later the Father took his own life.

My question is who would you say is the criminal - boy racers or a flight crew in a predicament which they do their best to get out of?

Will they likely have a suspended sentence or an aquittal or will the Italians really put them in jail for doing their job in trying circumstances?
