This is a great video (with fantastic 50's voiceover and sountrack) showing a wingless airplane that Bill Horton (in partnership with Howard Hughes) produced. It also shows the smallest bi-plane in the world at that time, and my it is small. There is something great about these videos:
Now then, not wishing to do Bill Horton a dis-service here, but is seems a very strong coincidence that those other Hortons', the brothers Reimar and Walter, had also developed, with great success, the concept of the flying wing. They even drew up plans for the 'Amerika bomber', or the Ho 18.
Were either of the Horton brothers whisked away to the states after the war, (Operation Paper Clip) or is it just that, a coincidence?
Is there anybody out there?
