Can you remember the first time you ever bought Flight International? Was there a particular article/issue that grabbed your attention
I remember my first time buying Flight (or to be more accurate, my dear old Dad buying it for me!) back in August 1981; I was eleven at the time. It was the 767 introductory issue, with a photo of the first '67 under construction; the issue had the full cutout, a list of the first customers ... I remember thinking, wow - what an airplane. I still remember seeing my first 767, at Dublin Airport, in June '84, when the Israeli president, the late Chaim Herzog was on a state visit to Ireland.
Some other things have changed too ... the cover price was 40 pence (or 50p in Ireland)!
I bought my first issue of F.I. in Pisa, in a newsstand near the railway station, in November 1962 (45 years ago!).
The cover was not particularly inspiring ....... but the content !
Missiles 1962 Special Issue.
The best coverage I've ever read about the subject .....and the drawings .....
Well, in January 1963 I decided to become a subscriber and I am still very happy about such a move.
