Airlines Suspending Operations: Albanian start-up Star Airways has AOC suspended but continues to fly reduced services

The Tirana-based low cost carrier's AOC has been supended by the Albanian Civil Aviation Authority. Star contracted to lease two A320s (reg ZA-RED, serial 415 and serial 112, not yet delivered) from ILFC earlier this year. While it consequently grounded its A320 on a temporary basis and suspended some services, the airline confirmed this morning that they continue to operate services linking Tirana with Italian destinations, using the McDonnell Douglas MD-82 aircraft and the AOC of Pescara-based ItAli Airlines.
