The Namibian flag-carrier is to introduce jet service from next month,
following the imminent arrival of the first of three ERJ-135ERs (reg V5-ANF, serial 145243).
The jets will be flown under operating lease from Air France subsidiary
Regional, replacing Beechcraft 1900D turboprops in Air Namibia
service. The two remaining aircraft (serials 145335 and 145347) are
scheduled for delivery in April and June 2011, respectively. The deal
was concluded in accordance with an exclusive remarketing mandate
awarded by Regional to ECC Leasing. This was the first remarketing
transaction of its kind completed by Embraer's in house leasing specialist. ECC shortly
expects to conclude a second remarketing deal, involving an ERJ-135 for
operation in an airline configuration as a corporate shuttle.
