Solaris Airlines has been created using the AOC of the former St.Petersburg-based domestic carrier, Vyborg, which ceased operating a small fleet of Ilyushin Il-114 turboprops in July 2010. The airline, also known as Solaris Rosaviation, is being relaunched as a Moscow Vnukovo-based leisure carrier, in conjunction with Turkish tour operator OTI Holding. The first two of an initial fleet of three planned Airbus A321s are reported to have been acquired through leases arranged with ILFC. Unusually, the first aircraft (reg EI-ERT, serial 1905) is a CFM56-5B3/P-powered A321-211, while the second (reg EI-ERS, serial 1199) is a V2533-powered A321-231. The third aircraft, thought to be a former Atlasjet Airlines example (serial 2117) is also CFM56-powered, and is to be acquired on lease from the Aviation Capital Group. Details for Solaris are so far limited to a website address as painted on the first aircraft: http://www.solarisair.com, which is still under construction.
