This is the only C-41 in the world. It was a DC-3 headed to UAL and General Hap Arnold wanted one for the Army Air Corps. The exterior is polished aluminum and has the original markings. Interior is like a 30's airliner. Previous owner was Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Company. They took it to Normandy in 1994 as part of the 50th anniversary of D-Day.

DC-3 C-GWIR Interior from Buffalo Airways. This bird flies the only scheduled passenger service in North America between Yellowknife and Hay River NWT.

Delivered to the 8th Air Force on April 13, 1943, it remained there until March 1960. At this point, she moved to the French Air Force, which she was a member of until 1963. Over the next 12 years, this airplane would be based in many different parts of the world. C-GWIR moved to Algiers, Tucson AZ, Calgary AB, Winnipeg MB, and finally the NWT. She was a valuable asset to NWT Air until 1981 when she moved to Buffalo Airways. To this day, most of the markings in this aircraft are still in its original language - French.
