(Date and year unknown) - The first two flight versions of the huge 138-foot long rocket unit pass each other as they exchange places at the NASA-Marshall Space Flight Centre where they were assembled. At right is the number one flight unit (S-1C-1) which is enroute from the Quality and Reliability Assurance Laboratory to the static test stand, via a short stop in a Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory assembly building. At left is the second stage flight unit (S-1C-2), enroute to the Quality lab for checkout. Both flight stages - among four boosters being moved between various assembly and test stations 3during a ten day period - have passed these major milestones in their development on schedule.
