Unit badges for the 48th Fighter Wing based at RAF Lakenheath on the port intake of United States Air Force Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle 01-2001/48OG/LN at Fairford 14 July 2007. The F-15C/F-15D Eagle's are operated by 493rd Fighter Squadron. The F-15E Strike Eagle's are operated by both 492nd and 494th Fighter Squadron's. And the recent addition to the Wing is the 56th Rescue Squadron operating Sikorsky HH-60G Pavehawk's following their transfer from Keflavik, Iceland.
