Vulcan To The Sky Trust Avro Vulcan B.2 XH558/G-VLCN at Farnborough on 18 July 2008.
Anyone who's seen a Vulcan in flight will never forget it. My memory is 44 years old. Laverton RAAF Base, just outside Melbourne, Australia, and a single touch-and-go and steep ground-shaking climb out. Machine probably flew in from Woomera where British / Australian Governments were developing long-range weapons. Vulcan was immediatelty followed by a RAF Transport Command Britannia which performed a very impressive high-speed and very low pass. Wonder how much it would cost to get the Vulcan out to Australia?
