Alitalia's "Big Pyjama" 26062013
Alitalia has replaced its traditional green and red colours by a light blueish paint on Airbus A320 c/n 2869 EI-DSA, which earned the aircraft the nickname "Pigiamone" ("Big Pyjama"). The colour scheme goes remarkably well with the dark clouds on 26 June 2013, the day this photo was taken, when the aircraft was on its way to runway 27 of Schiphol Amsterdam airport in The Netherlands (EHAM), operating flight AZ0110 from Rome. The text in red on the fuselage "Moviamo chi muove l'Italia" means "We move those who move Italy". This seems to contradict its nickname, as not many guys and girls in pyjama are known for moving their country. But remember Churchill won WW2 in his pyjamas, as he used to give many orders in the early morning while still sitting in bed. So it looks the Italians were indeed spot on with the combination of slogan and colour scheme. EI-DSA made its first flight on 8 August 2006 as F-WBBE and was first delivered to Alitalia's budget daughter Air One on 18 September 2006 before it went to Alitalia itself on 1st february 2010.
