Ultralight B&F FK9 Mk IV Shortwing c/n 301 PH-4J4 at Kempen airport Budel in The Netherlands (EHBD) on 30 June 2011. The pilot grabs his things before putting the aircraft in the hangar. The FK9 was designed by German aircraft designer Otto Funk in the eighties. Otto's son Peter, who also contributed to the design, set up a company to produce it, together with Dirk Breitkreuz. The company was generously named B&F, with the B of Breitkreuz coming first and the F of Funk coming last. The mark IV variant was introduced in 2003, the shortwing version having improved downward visibility. The FK9 is produced in Poland.
