The Battle of the noses ended inconclusive in 2011, although AirSpace user and winner of the Flight front cover competition 2011 Flyvertosset predicted the DC-3/C-47/Dakota would win in the end. Maybe, maybe, but there are strong contenders. This is the nose of Dutch Hawker Seahawk FGA50 c/n 6629 of the former Dutch Naval Air Service with tailnumber 118, preserved in the Tradition Room of Naval Air Station De Kooy in The Netherlands (EHKD). Let's be honest: it is a cute, somewhat duck-like, design and so very appropriate for a naval aircraft. The photo was taken on 21 September 2011.
