The nose of Boeing C-17A Globemaster III c/n F-211 with tailnumber 03 (080003). The photo was taken in The Netherlands, as you can tell by the bikes parked against the front wheel. This low country counts more bicycles than people! The aircraft was on display at Leeuwarden air base (EHLW) on 17 September 2011, the second day of the Open Days of the Royal Netherlands Air Force. This Globemaster is one of three of NATO's Strategic Airlift Consortium or Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC) in which 12 countries participate. The aircraft (not surprisingly numbered 01, 02 and 03) are based at the Hungarian Air Base Pápa, as visible on the engine cover.
