When I created a Belly Week gallery two weeks ago, I did not have an image of an A380 belly, so I could not post images for a comparison with the Boeing 747. But today was the day. Emirates Airbus A380-861 c/n 103 A6-EDW flew past my home at a height of approximately 4000 ft on its way to Schiphol Amsterdam airport for the 11th time, carrying out flight EK147 from Dubai. I could capture its big belly with my new Sigma 120-300 2.8 lens with Canon 2x converter on my Canon 50D. The aircraft first flew on 10 January 2012 as F-WWAL and was delivered to Emirates on 29 August 2012. Note the text announcing the United Arab Emirates bid for the 2020 World Expo on the fuselage, behind the cockpit.

From this point of view the main characteristic of the A380 compared with the Boeing 747 (see the Belly Week link below) is the wavelike curve of the wing root, as the double deck and thicker fuselage are less apparent from down under.
