Dornier 228-212 c/n 8181 PH-CGN is one of two Dorniers of the Dutch Coast Guard (in Dutch: "Kustwacht"), seen here during the second day of the Open Days of the Dutch air force at Leeuwarden air base (EHLW) on 17 September 2011. The aircraft made its first flight on 4 October 1990 and is operated by the Dutch Coast Guard since 18 September 2007. It was previously flying with Formosa airlines as 9N-AFS. The Dutch Coast Guard has two Dorniers 228, the second one being c/n 8183 PH-CGC. In the 1950s the registration PH-CGN was used for Convair 340-48 c/n 134 of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, named "Pieter de Hoogh" after a famous Dutch painter.
