Dutch Connie engine start 28092002
Dutch Lockheed 749A Constellation N749NL starts the engines at Lelystad airfield in The Netherlands (EHLE) on September 28, 2002. The aircraft had just been welcomed by a large crowd upon arrival at Lelystad airfield after a ferry flight from the United States. The engines were started for a short hop to Schiphol airport (EHAM) where it would be refurbished and painted in an historic KLM color scheme by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. The aircraft is now part of the collection of the Aviodrome aviation museum at Lelystad (National Aviation Theme Park Aviodrome), which brought the Connie to The Netherlands.
