Dutch Hercules G-275 15062013
Lockheed C-130H Hercules c/n 5275 (U.S. fiscal year number 93-0598) with tailnumber G-275 and named "Joop Mulder` is one of four C-130s of the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF). The aircraft is seen here after landing at Volkel air base in The Netherlands (EHVK) during the Open Days of the Dutch Air Force on 15 June 2013. G-275 entered service with the RNLAF on 8 October 1994. The aircraft is named after Joop Mulder, who became commander of 320 Dutch squadron in the RAF in 1944. He flew 80 sorties over occupied Europe. After the war he became a major general in the Dutch air force. For his achievements during WWII he was awarded the highest Dutch military distinction, the Military Williams Order (in Dutch: Militaire Willems Orde, or MWO).
