Left side view of Lockheed C-130H Hercules c/n 382-4988 with tailnumber G-988 of the Royal Netherlands Air Force at Eindhoven air base in The Netherlands (EHEH) on 7 September 2011. The aircraft is named "Willem den Toom", after the air force lieutenant-general who later became Secretary of Defence. G-988 is one of two ex-US Navy C-130s that were refurbished and upgraded with new avionics by Marshall Aerospace in the UK. The main new feature is a glass cockpit. The other renovated RNLAF Hercules is G-781. The aircraft was last flown by the US Navy in 1991 and made its first flight after the upgrade in July 2010.
