Rear view with the refueling boom of McDonnell Douglas KDC-10 c/n 46956 of the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) with tailnumber T-235 on display during the Open Days of the Dutch Air Force at Leeuwarden Air Base in The Netherlands (EHLE) on 17 September 2011. The aircraft first flew on 11 November 1976 as a McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30CF and went to Dutch carrier Martinair as PH-MBP on 23 December 1976. From 1977 to 1980 it served with Garuda Indonesian and Phillipine Airlines while it retained its Dutch registration. The RNLAF acquired it on 3 February 1995 and had it converted for a combined passenger/cargo/tanker role, with a refueling boom under the tail. T-235 arrived a day earlier with no less than 8 F-16s in its wake (see link below).
