Eclipse 500 N514EA at EHAM 25032011
Eclipse Aviation EA500 c/n 000053 N514EA on the biz aircraft apron of Schiphol Amsterdam airport in The Netherlands (EHAM) on 25 March 2011. The aircraft was manufactured in 2007. It is now on the FAA-register with Bond Aviation Inc. as owner. For some time it flew for Etirc, an investment company of the Dutch former excecutive Roel Pieper of the also Dutch Philips electronics multinational. Etirc held the distribution rights for 22 countries. Pieper took over as CEO from Eclipse founder Vern Raburn in 2008, after the concept of producing large numbers of relatively cheap Very Light Jets for the emerging air taxi business failed. But Pieper could not attract enough new investors. Eclipse aviation halted production of the EA500 in 2008, but since 2010 a new company, Total Eclipse, is determined to restart production. Its president is Mason Holland, but that is not a Dutch connection. From 1983 to 1992 a Boeing 757 (c/n 22204) of Eastern Airlines also flew with the registration N514EA. Visible in the background is Dassault Falcon 900 N166FB. An image of Eclipse 500 N514EA was posted to this EnoAeroPics gallery on 27 March 2011 and an image of both aircraft on the apron at Schiphol was posted on 3d April, 2011. Close ups of Dassault Falcon N166FB have also been uploaded to this gallery.
