General Dynamics (Lockheed) F-16B Block 5 of the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) with tailnumber J-265 at Soesterberg AB in The Netherlands on September 17, 2008. The aircraft was displayed without engine. This was the celebration aircraft in the Dutch F-16 fleet. It wears the special color scheme to celebrate 50 years of NATO for the Tiger Meet excercise. Previously it had been painted in a color scheme to celebrate 40 years of Dutch 313 squadron. At the time the photo was taken (or, as we say in Dutch: was "made") the aircraft was in storage at the since November 2008 defunct Soesterberg Air Base. J-265 has been handed over to the Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR or, in Dutch: Nationaal Lucht- en Ruimtevaartlaboratorium). Next to the F-16 stands a Breguet Atlantic in fake Dutch Navy colors (The aircraft never flew for the Dutch navy, but was acquired from Germany for the Dutch Military Aviation Museum that will move to the former Soesterberg Air Base premises).
