Fokker 50 PH-KVA KLM Cityhopper at EHLE 28092002
Fokker 50 c/n 20189 PH-KVA of KLM Cityhopper taxiing on the taxiway parallel to runway 05-23 at Lelystad airport (EHLE) on September 28, 2002. As the Fokker Fokker 50 is regarded by the certificating authorities as a derivative of the Fokker F27 Friendship, the F50 is officially registered as the Fokker F27 Mk050. The aircraft first flew on July 12, 1990 and went to Air Baltic in November 2005 as YL-BAO. Lelystad was not a regular destination of KLM Cityhopper: the aircraft was at Lelystad for the arrival of Dutch Connie N749NL after a ferry flight from the U.S. (see also the photo "Dutch Connie engine start", posted to this gallery on tuesday November 30, 2010). It is a scene never to be repeated again as KLM Cityhopper made its last commercial flight with the Fokker 50 on Saturday March 27 2010 from London Heathrow to Schiphol Amsterdam. A day later two Cityhopper 50's (PH-KVI and PH-KVK) flew the very very last flights with guests, among them a group of children.
