Fokker 50 PH-LXP 08102005
Fokker 50 c/n 20276 of KLM Cityhopper on finals in semi darkness at Schiphol airport in The Netherlands (EHAM) on 8 October 2005. As the Fokker 50 is regarded by the certificating authorities as a derivative of the Fokker F27 Friendship, the Fokker 50 is officially registered as the Fokker F27 Mk050. This particular aircraft first flew on 16 February 1993. It first went to Air UK as G-UKTG and was operated by KLM Cityhopper as PH-LXP since 30 March 2003, before being phased out and stored in November 2009. It is operated by Compagnie Africaine Aviation as 9Q-CAB since 14 August 2010. Curiously enough this is the same registration an MD-82 of the same company had which crashed on 19 November 2009, according to Airfleets.net.
