Boeing 747-406BC c/n 30455 (l/n 1302) PH-BFY "Johannesburg"  of KLM Asia shortly after take-off from runway 06-24 of Schiphol Amsterdam airport in The Netherlands (EHAM) on 7 November 2012. Seconds later the sun broke through and I could photograph PH-BFY in silhouette against a backdrop of orange clouds and blue sky, a photo that was chosen by Flightglobal as Image of the Day on 27 November 2012 (see links below). The aircraft first flew on 30 March 2002 as N6005C and  was delivered to KLM on 10 April 2002.
