Over and out: the last SAS MD-81 20092012
In October 2013 McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) MD-81 c/n 53000 (l/n 1812) OY-KHN "Dan Viking" was the last MD-81 to be phased out by SAS, together with the MD-82s OY-KHE and LN-RMM. It meant the end of the MD-80 era with SAS, which operated 147 of the variants MD-81/82/83/87 and MD-90. To mark the occasion LN-RMM made flypasts over Denmark on 26 October. OY-KHN is seen here on final at Schiphol Amsterdam airport in The Netherlands (EHAM) on 20 September 2012 after operating flight SK1549 from Copenhagen. The aircraft made its first flight on 17 December 1990 and was delivered to SAS on 29 January 1991.
