Westland Sikorsky S-61 Sea King Mk.48 c/n WA834 of the Belgian air force with tailnumber RS04 over Leeuwarden air base in The Netherlands (EHLW) during the Open Days of the Royal Netherlands Air Force on 17 September 2011. The aircraft made its first flight on 7 May 1976 and was delivered to the Belgian air force (also known as the Belgian Air Component) on 28 May 1976. It is one of five Mk.48 search and rescue Sea Kings built exclusively for the Belgian air force. The airframe is almost similar to the HAS.2 version, but features an extended cabin. Sea King RS01 was phased out on 17 December 2008 after it flew under its own power to the Royal Army Museum in the centre of Brussels, accompanied by other air force helicopters. The remaining four are to be retired in 2012 when the first NH-90s ordered by Belgium are supposed to be delivered.
