Boeing 737-8AS c/n 38492 (l/n 3099) EI-EGC of Ryanair taxiing at Ryanair Dutch hub Eindhoven airport (EHEH) on 5 September 2012. The aircraft made its first flight on 5 November 2009 as N1786B and entered service with Ryanair on 20 November 2009. Note the flat underside of the engine pods, designed to get sufficient ground clearance. The first 737s had a much smaller engine and narrow round pods, but the larger engines of later models made a redesign of the engine pods necessary.
