Lockheed Martin F-16AM Fighting Falcon c/n 6D-96 (U.S. fiscal year number 81-0879) of the Royal Netherlands Air Force 322 squadron with tailnumber J-879 touches down at Leeuwarden air base in The Netherlands (EHLW) during NATO exercise Frisian Flag on 26 April 2012. 322 Squadron was formed in the UK during WWII. Note the squadron emblem with a parrot on the tail. During the war one of the Dutch pilots took a parrot with him, which he named "Polly Grey". The squadron emblem with Polly Grey was approved by King George in 1945. The squadron still has a live parrot, with a cage for the night and a tree for daytime.
