The Dutch air force has phased out its very last Fokker aircraft, after having operated Fokker aircraft almost continuously since 1918. Fokker 50-120 c/n 20253 with tailnumber U-05 and name "Fons Aler" made its very last flight in the colors of the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF, or "Koninklijke Luchtmacht" in Dutch) from its homebase Eindhoven airport (EHEH) to Lelystad airport in The Netherlands (EHLE) on 5 September 2012 Two days later it was followed by sistership U-06. Both aircraft will receive the livery of their new, as yet undisclosed, owner by well-known aircraft painter QAPS (Quality Aircraft Painting Services). The aircraft was delivered to the Dutch air force on 1st December 1996.
