Three Piper Super Cubs of the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) Historic Flight at Soesterberg AB in The Netherlands on 1st July 2003. The civil version type was PA-18-135 , the military version was known as L-21A/U-7B. The aircraft carry their former military registration, but are now all in the Dutch civil register. R-109, c/n 18-3537, has the civil registration PH-GAZ, R-122, c/n 18-3812, has the civil registration PH-PPW, R-177, c/n 8-3867, has the civil registration PH-KNR. The Piper Cubs were used by the Dutch Air Force from 1952 until 1975, when they were replaced by Bölkow BO-105 helicopters, which in the mean time have been phased out as well.
