This is Sir Hiram Maxim posing for the camera in the pilot seat of his gigantic 1910 Biplane. This picture has been published in Flight 1910 in a detailed 4-page article describing the machine. You will notice that the picture actually seen in Flight is 'doctored' and that Sir Maxim has lost his beautiful hat. I don't know the reason for this effort, but I prefer the classy original picture !!
