Operated by the Vampire Preservation Group WZ507 was the first civilian ex-military jet to fly on the UK civilian register in 1980, after restoration by the Solway Aviation Society at Carlisle Airport. The Vampire was the second jet fighter to be flown by the RAF in 1945. It was still flying with the Swiss Airforce until the 1990's. This airframe is based at North Weald in Essex.
