Part of the etched glass tribute to the 7000 plus aircraft lost by the US 8th (6346) and 9th (692) Air Forces and the US Navy (24) while operating from UK bases during World War 2.

Each loss is represented by an accurate aircraft sillouette, in this case B-17's, and there are many many  similar panels surrounding the American Air Museum. Soberingly, note this is 7000 airframes, it equates to over 30,000 aircrew killed.
