Ex-Hawkins and Powers water-bomber now in private hands and restored to flying condition at the static display area at Coronado's North Island Naval Air Station in San Diego.
The U.S. Navy celebrated its 100-year anniversary in San Diego, where its aviation program began, in "Parade of Flight" above San Diego Bay Saturday February 12, 189 aircraft, ranging from slow-flying vintage planes to modern supersonic jets, took off from North Island Naval Air Station and paraded along the San Diego Bay Area.
Approximately 75 additional planes were parked at the static display area for visitors' viewing as well as other events during the day. An estimated 70,000 visitors attended the event, driving, biking, or walking across the Coronado Bridge, which became congested with the flood of those on their way to the celebration
