Goodyear Blimp over Oshkosh

The long-running era of the Goodyear Blimp is ending: it's good news for airship enthusiasts. Goodyear has decided to replace its famous fleet of inflatable blimps with more sophisticated semi-rigid "Neue Technologie" ships designed by the modern-day German successor to the original Zeppelin company.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has just announced plans to purchase three Zeppelin LZ N07-101 (a successor to the current LZ N07-100) from ZLT Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik GmbH & Co KG.
