Mitchell B-25D "Grumpy" escorted by Mustang P-51B "Impatient Virgin" both from from Historic Flight at Kilo 7 WA, seen at Paine Field Wa 2009

After flying 1,551 hours with the USAAF, the Mitchell B-25D-30 was overhauled at the Kelly Field Depot, Texas. One of 70 B-25Ds included in a 1944 lend-lease transaction, “Grumpy” also served the RAF.

Built in 1945, Mustang P-51B is believed to have served in the Texas Air Guard and with the Indonesian Air Force.  Along with one other, it was returned to the US by Stephen Johnson, sold to the War Eagles Museum where it went through initial restoration.  It was further restored by Pena Olivas for Bill in 1995 .

There are some confusion about the Aviation museums in Seattle. Here are the 4 major players in the area:

Historic Flight at Kilo 7

Museum of Flight

The Flying Heritage Collection

The Heritage Flight Museum
