April 9, 1964 - While launch of the first Gemini-Titan II Air Force launch vehicle is scheduled shortly, the rocketn for the first Project Gemini manned mission, set for late this year, is undergoing assembly at the Martin Company's Baltimore Division. Gemini-Titan II launch vehicle number three will rocket two astronauts in a Gemini spacecraft into earth orbit. The first stage is lined up, in three pieces, in the foreground at the special launch vehicle assembly area at Martin. The two tanks for the second stage are at upper left corner. The launch vehicle for the second unmanned mission this summer now is undergoing vertical test at Baltimore. Martin is under contract to Air Force Systems Division for the launch vehicle for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Project Gemini.
