The Handley Page Harrow Mk.I, N205. This two-seat re-design of the Hendon / Hanley slotted-wing torpedo-carriers was the first aircraft to have automatic slots, but lost out to the Blackburn Ripon.

The Handley Page Harrow Mk.I, N205, was the first aircraft to be fitted with automatic slots as seen here. Initially the slots were operated by mechanical gears manually controlled from the cockpit.

The automatic slots on the Handley Page Harrow Mk.I, N205. Until the critical stalling condition arose, air pressure around the leading edge held them firmly in pace. Changes in dynamic pressure as the stall approached pulled them out.
