The Royal Air Force Valetta VX 498 (MB-VYM) attempted to land at Choma Zambia, Choma was an unmanned strip 1-1/2 miles from Choma. in June 1951 on a delivery flight with Radar and photpgraphic equipment. following an engine failure. when the starboard engine started to feather. The aircraft could not be brought to a stop on the runway and overshot 150 meters. It impacted an ant hill, which caused the undercarriage to collapse.There were no facilities and the cargo was undamaged, but the aircraft was written off.
