This is a close up view showing the complexity of the Apollo 14 Hatch which was redesigned after the Apollo1 fire at KSC during a dress rehearsal for it's first flight. Despite the complexity the door can be opened in a matter of seconds compared to the original Hatch to fascilitate a rapid egress in the event of an emergency.
