The FA-121, a Belgian Defence Air Component Lockheed Martin F-16AM Fighting Falcon (c/n 6H-121 - USAF s/n 88-0046) in service with the 2nd Tactical Wing - 1st Squadron based at Florennes in Belgium. The 1st SQN fulfils conventional offensive operations and air recognition.
A nice artwork of a "Recce Spook" and call sign of the 1st SQN: "Stingers" is painted on the starboard side of the F-16 tail.
On the port side of the special painted tail you see a "Scottish Thistle". It appeared for the first time in 1917 on a Sopwith Camel and Hanriot of the 1st Fighter SQN and is the oldest squadron badge of the Belgian Military aviation. The thistle is surrounded by a circle carrying the motto of the squadron: "Nemo me impune lacessit" ("Nobody provokes me with impunity"). Also on the tail is a sword painted, carrying the same motto.
