On April 2, 2009, the F-16 Demoteam of the Royal Netherlands Air Force presented the new colour scheme for the upcoming airshow season to the Air Force commander general Jac Jansen. In his last year as demo pilot, captain Ralph "Sheik" Aarts, flew the Lockheed F-16 A (M4) with registration J-015 from the Fokker facilities in Woensdrecht to his homebase of Volkel AFB.
The new design will replace the former, award winning, "Sonic Boom" colourscheme and was designed by Rob de Lange in close cooperation with the demoteam. The aircraft was painted at the facilities of Strok/Fokker in Woensdrecht. Especially the black nosecone is a special feature, since the paint had to be specially developed to keep the performance of the radar at the operational level.
