Tornado GR.4 ZA447 wears the WWII code of Spitfire Mk.IA P9428 EB-R, flown by Squadron Leader Hilary R. L. "Robin" Hood DFC, who was lost whilst commanding 41 Squadron's 'B' Flight on a patrol over the Maidstone area, engaging a large enemy formation of Heinkel He111s, Dornier Do17s and Junkers Ju88s escorted by Messerschmitt Bf109s during early September 1940. ZA447 is seen at RAF Northolt.
