The Lakenheath airshow over the weekend of 27/28 August 1988 saw the first appearance of a B-1B Lancer in the UK. The aircraft, with the 384BW was named 'Penetrator'. Note the two tone camo.

I remember well it's departure on the Bank Holiday Monday. Having been refused permission to do a flypast after take-off, we heard over the scanner the pilot report a possible undercarriage fault and request a fly-by from the tower for a visual check....or was the pilot getting his flyby wish afterall......
