A rare treat appeared at the annual Yeovilton Air Day. The QinetiQ VAAC Harrier not only appeared on static but also took part in the main flying display. In a classic flight test colour scheme it looked beautiful. The airframe was built in 1968 and is the oldest of its type still flying. Because of its role in supporting the Joint Strike Fighter and other test programmes it is also known as "the oldest but the cleverest"
This picture was taken on Friday afternoon soon after the Harrier arrived.
