Last flown operationally by the Austrian air force, the Draken is still an awesome sight. The example on display in Linkoping narrowly escaped a major birdstrike on its previous landing attempt; good flying!

Saab built more than 450 Lansen fighters from the early 1950s. Sadly the earlier "Flying Barrel" didn't join it during the celebrations on 31 August after developing an engine problem

Saab's first aircraft was the B17 dive-bomber. Built in 1943, this is believed to be the only flying example

The static display at the Saab 70 show at Linkoping included two unusual Gripens - one used by the UK's Empire Test Pilot's School and another which is supporting development work on MBDA's Meteor beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile
