This is an official Skylab 2 Onboard Film release taken at the Johnson Spacecraft Center, Texas of Astronaut Joseph P.Kerwin, the Skylab II science pilot, who is photographed strapped into the sleep restrain in the crew quarters of the orbital workshop of the Skylab I/II space station cluster in Earth Orbit. Kerwin is wearing the special cap which contains biomedical instrumentation for the MI33 sleep monitoring experiment. The purpose of the M133 experiment was to evaluate quality and quantity of sleep durin proloned space flight by the analysis of electroencephalographic and electrooculographic activity.
